It all started with a bushel of good intentions.
Run daily. Only one piece of cake per day. Do your work. Sleep well. Hydrate.
And then New Year’s Eve tumbled into a sad and sorry New Year’s Day tumbled into a three (!) week long cold (starting on Boxing Day, for those who think my mathematical skills are somewhat lacking) tumbled into watching all of the Mad Men and David Attenborough and tennis that a body can handle before stumbling off to get more Thai takeaway.

“Get over here you silly little goose.”
It was a mere three hours after meeting Koji and already I’d been given my first nickname.
I wasn’t sure about it at first – geese are such odd creatures, you see, all long necks and beady, curious eyes and flapping wings – but it’s managed to stick, and every startled honk and sideward glance out of me continues to perpetuate the moniker.
Ever since I gave up that heavenly drink that is coffee some 8 or so years ago, I’ve been known to stand and stare forlornly at the machine that adorns our kitchen counter.
Black, sleek, nice smelling.
It churns out cup after tiny cup of darkly potent brew, topped with the most deliciously creamy froth.
So, to make up for my inability to consume hot, caffeinated beverages, I started drinking my own combinations of milk and flavour. Sometimes chai. Sometimes chocolate. Sometimes even chocolate and chai together.
I’m a little bit groundbreaking like that. Ha!
Over time I developed my own favourite mix. Nothing fancy, always warming.

A trip around the Sydney Markets with James Harris from Harris Farm Markets (it really is a family business). To meet the growers, the sellers, the buyers and (I was to find out) to get a first hand lesson on how exactly to cross a street at packing time without getting hit by a forklift driver.
