decorated irish coffee cut-out cookies

December 18th, 2012

“Peace, joy & a time of noël – that’s what I’m wishing for this Christmas…” said I, my voice trailing off as I thought of all those who’d be lacking in one, if not all three, at this time of year.

“That’s not very helpful” replied Koji, just a little shortly.

He always gets more than a little flustered around this time of year as the frenzy of shopping and buying and wrapping and receipt saving commences.

“Well, perhaps some nice earrings then?” said I, in an attempt to mollify the Grinch.

“How about some coal?”

christmas bauble macaron

November 21st, 2012

We put up our Christmas tree today, much to the ire of Koji who tossed a half-confused, half-annoyed “It’s still November!” in my direction after I sent him a picture complete with an exclamation mark filled caption.

(He’s right, of course, but Thanksgiving is tomorrow, there’s less than five weeks left til C-Day and I’ve already done half my shopping and am sick of keeping it stuffed in the back of my wardrobe. So there.)

my ultimate double choc cookies

June 14th, 2012

It’s undeniable, the sudden cascade of chocolate themed recipes that have been appearing on this blog of late (and even moreso when I tell you that there are not one but two (ok, three) more such recipes to be posted in the near future).

Well, “sudden” if you consider that I’m not generally a chocolate eater.

And “cascade” if you consider that the last non-guest chocolate-centric post was in January (and that the one before that was in March 2011).

guest post: the littlest anchovy!

April 12th, 2012

I am so thrilled to be introducing my very first guest-poster, Anna from the littlest anchovy

I fell in love with Anna’s blog way back last year when I spotted a recipe for whiskey and pumpernickel ice-cream and fell head over heels again when I saw her more recent adventures. The girl made her own bacon. Own. Bacon. Ah!

She’s pulled together a gorgeous recipe for some seriously decadent cookies to share with you all, so grab a seat, say hi and show some love!
