The weather, so promising in October, has faded to a dull damp grey that threatens to overthrow my long-anticipated plans for a Summer spent burning on the beach before flinging myself into cool blue water.

Darn it.

christmas cutout cookies

It’s not even December yet and here I am busting out the Christmas baking.

If it helps at all, I haven’t so much as started my Christmas shopping and (horror!) have absolutely no idea what dessert I’ll be bringing to my annual high-school-reunion-over-”Christmas”-lunch that’s planned for this Saturday.

Though I suppose, if worse comes to worst, I can just feed them cookies…

rosemary & caramel “oreos”

Remember how I promised, way back in December when I was lying around at my Ah-Kong’s house in Malaysia, that I would post the recipe for some cookies?

And then remember how I didn’t do it because I was too busy melting into the leather sofa and eating jambu whilst watching tv in a language I didn’t understand?

date & cranberry oatmeal cookies

Guilt.  Confusion.  Heartbreak.

Nervousness.  Excitement.  Relief.

If you’ve been following my tweets (@onebitemore) you may have noticed, in amongst my other natterings, that I’ve made the decision to pull up stumps and move jobs.  It was an immensely difficult decision to make, and one that I am still coming to terms with in alternating waves of excitement and trepidation.

But the news, it is out there.  And the relief I felt when I was finally able to tell my colleagues was beyond description.

honey & cinnamon cookies

The Bean, she has a rabbit. And that rabbit’s name is Ah-Bee.

The rabbit was named after a soft-toy-long-lost-at-Dreamworld, and the soft toy after the moniker given to the Bean as a child. Ah-Bee, you see, is loosely translated as “baby duckling”, and boy can that girl pout.
