settling in for the winter

It’s been a while since we’ve spoken. My fault, not yours.

Truth be told, I’ve been too busy living. Moving out and moving in. Dealing with dusty carpets and a lackluster kitchen for all of two weeks before deciding to take the lot out and replace it with something new and beautiful. A kitchen that will make my tiny apartment for two into a real-live proper home.

With demolition comes dust. Oh, these past months have been dusty.

There have been headaches that seemed beyond relief and heartaches that seemed beyond repair.

But then, as if on cue, the light peers in through the blinds.

We’re planning our wedding for late August, Koji and I. Of course, the starting point for the whole affair was my childhood desire to eat lobster on my wedding day, and so the whole she-bang has been organised around that. The Bean is getting hitched too, some time in the New Year (is it already so late in 2014 that the New Year is a time other than now?) so in amongst all of the hustle and bustle, there has been joy in abundance. And for that, I am eternally grateful.

So whilst I find and unpack my camera, adjust myself to my resurrected computer and start finding my feet in my new kitchen, here’s an unedited, straight from my trusty camera phone snapshot of what I was doing when I chose to be alive.

(I also managed to squeeze in an appearance on 2ser a couple of weekends ago. If you missed it, and want to hear it, a clip is available on theĀ 2ser website. I’m sorry for my “You know what”s in advance.)
