hawkesbury harvest growers markets at the ivy
“To market, to market to buy a fat pig!”
I was humming to myself as I wandered down PittĀ Street.
“Home again, home again jigeddy-jig!”
Into Angel Place, past the bird cages, round the corner and…
Seven stalls. I’d walked all this way for seven stalls.

Luckily for the organisers they were seven good stalls. Willowbrae Cheese (from whom I bought a lovely olive tapenade crusted fresh goats curd for $9.00) was there, as was a lovely gentleman from the Blue Mountains who sold me this honey.
I haven’t opened it yet, but oh! The possibilities!
(And, just quietly, I have my eye on a jar of ginger infused honey too – and whilst at $8.00 a jar it isn’t cheap, it isn’t going to break the bank either.)

I also bought myself a bag of this muesli from the Sonoma Bread stall. It’s priced at 500g for $10, and it’s the best muesli I’ve ever eaten. (This isn’t an exaggeration. I promise). It’s sweet without being saccharine, chunky, crunchy and has a wonderfully full flavour.
I’ve eaten my way through half the bag already… and only once with milk and a spoon.
The Hawkesbury Harvest Growers Market is on again at Ash Street (behind the ivy tomorrow, 29 October 2009 for its second (and final) time. It’s worth a wander if you’re in the vicinity, if only for the amazing that is Sonoma’s muesli.
