McDonald's "Grand Angus" Burger $6.45

Tell you what, there’s nothing like a spot of curiosity to break the enthusiasm of a newly adapted “winter weight begone!” spin on eating. More so when the invitation mentions unlimited serves of fries from McDonald’s.

I have no self-control when it comes to fries from McDonald’s. None. At. All.

Tell you what though, there’s new burgers coming out and they contains Angus Steak (meat from real, proper, Angus-breed cows) instead of the standard “100% Australian Beef”. (Don’t you fret though. They’ve retained the processed cheese & pickles, so it still has that familiar McDonald’s flavour.)

McDonald's "Mighty Angus" Burger $6.75

Here’s the breakdown

Grand Angus $6.45 – 1/3 pound Angus Beef pattie, two slices of cheese, tomato, spanish onion, mayo & a pickle on a sourdough-style (ie: not the standard) square-ish bun.

Mighty Angus $6.75 – 1/3 pound Angus Beef pattie, two slices of cheese, bacon & spicy onion relish on a sourdough-style (ie: not the standard) square-ish bun. This one was dubbed “the man burger”.

When Ms. Taste and I were in the states the last two Christmases, there were many late nights where we would hit up Maccas for some Angus third pounder action. I’m sad that they’re not bringing over the mushroom and swiss – that was definitely my fave
